Review:

There's like five things that always make me really happy: naked chicks, swimming pools full of money, my family or some nonsense lame shit, Alabama fans crying and Chateauneuf-du-Pape (CNDP). If you were to somehow combine all of those things into one mutant-esque thing my body would break apart like a Kardashian marriage and I would cease to be.

This vintner has been doing this wine thing a long time - since 1891 in fact! What I love about southern Rhône is many of the vines are really old - the ones at this estate are an average of 60. So while you're nerding out on cats or some dumb ass shit I'm being all cultured and ooh-ing and awe-ing over fruit stuff. You should read on your own about CNDP wines or just understand it's the best thing you've ever/never had.

Anyway let's get to it. In da nostrils I get soil and tobacco notes which tends to be one of the things I love about this wine. In da mouf though I was a tad disappointed (THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID). I got the immediate taste of plum that finished more into a grapefruit and bitter taste. The finish was quick (THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID) and you almost forget immediately what you're drinking. Really light tannins on this one which made for a disappointing mouthfeel.

This is a relatively inexpensive CNDP so I'm not surprised it didn't wow me. If you want to try some of this wine shoot me a message and I'll point you in a better direction.
