Review:

Bad Wine Reviews mischief man, Chris O'Mara, pointed me to this producer and highly recommended one of their other offerings - the Friulano - and so I picked up that one and this naughty bitch. I picked this up at Houston Wine Merchant which is a fantastic store for all things booze - check 'em out!

While you apparently need a doctorate to decipher the 900 designations on the bottle I'll help break it down. Venica is the producer, Jesera is the name of the wine, Collio is the area and it's of course a Pinot Grigio because that's what is says right on the bottle. I don't know much about this vintner, obviously, but the back label has some good info so put your eyeballs on it.

I'm a pretty big fan of Pinot Grigio because it's typically not a sugar bomb and has bright fruit notes. This one is no exception and the "Dry White Wine" designation makes my jinglies tingle. In da nose I get peaches and floral notes that became more prominent as it warmed up - I know it says serve at 50 degrees but I like it a tad warmer to get the full fruitsperience (copyrighted word). In da mouf I get melon and those damn lemon Starburst. I know some people hate the lemon but I think it's perfect to describe white wines.

While it doesn't get me twitterpated to pay $30ish for a Pinot Grigio I didn't mind this one as it is a cut above others I have had. I wouldn't recommend this to drink in your "Pink" or "Love" sweatpants that have holes in the ass - try to drink with a nice pasta or fish night.
