2016 Siduri Pinot Noir Review
We got this from Nice Wines in Houston on a Saturday jaunt because we were getting low on our daily drinkers. I cannot believe we let that happen but such is life.
This is from a Pinot Noir producer that has vineyards in both California and Oregon. Based on the number of bottles they put out they must be kicking out a shitload of wine. There seems to be a sister-producer, Novy, that kicks out some varieties but Siduri is all about them Peanut Mores.
In da nose I got green tea, passion fruit and a nice bit of soil. I always enjoy Pinots that feature some soil - tends to take away from some of the bite. In da mouf I got rich pepper and strawberry with a bitter finish of pomegranate.
This is without a doubt an Oregon Pinot because it's good and isn't so sour that you want to spit it out raspberry style. I've found decent Pinots start around $25 so $30 really isn't terrible for this bottle. Hopefully you try it with the lady that's on the front of the bottle - or someone close to that.
