2010 Bodegas Y Vinedos O. Fournier Alfa Crux Malbec Review
I found this bottle in some hole-in-the-wall store way south going towards Kemah with tons of dust on it. I was actually pretty shocked because most of the time I only find gas station erection medication or malt liquor.
This is from Bodegas Y Vinedos O. Fournier who makes some kickass Malbec. I was curious like a cat about this bottle so I picked it up and when I got home I checked it out - was the #25 wine of 2014 so my instincts were spot the hell on. I'm amazing. Everyone recognize my prowess. Anyway this is 100% malbec.
In da nose I got 4 hammocks full of plum and two semi-trucks full of mint. The mint was hard to detect right after opening but was clear after it sat a tick. In da mouf I got chocolate and blackberry up front followed by herbs (rosemary, thyme) on the finish.
I think I would have liked this one a lot more had I drank a couple years ago - seemed a bit musty. I tend to like Malbecs in the 5-7 years old range but given the quality figured it would hold up. So if you're in a store and find this bottle I'd say save your money for the erection pills.
