Review:

Look to your left. Look to your right. Nothing on either side of you is as good as Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine. Yep even your children. They are below this wine. It is especially true of this wine which was the #18 wine of the year last year according to my boos at Wine Spectator.

If you haven't tried Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines yet then there's nothing I can say to you at this point that would convince you. Get up off your ass and drink it now. Chateau de Beaucastel is without a doubt one of the premier producers of wine in France and this wine is a steal, son! The other cool thing is this is my oldest daughter's birth year so...good excuse to clear all the stores out (3 so far) of their inventory.

In da nose I get that Christmas market spice and some white pepper. In da mouf I get licorice and plum on the front followed by some intense earth/soil notes on the finish that pull it all together. For opening it about 2 years too early it's drinking brilliantly. I wish I had enough to bathe in.

You can always rely on Beaucastel for high quality wine that will never disappoint. I would buy and keep this for another 2-3 years. Before opening let it stand up for 24 hours and then aerate this bad bitch for 2-3 hours before serving. Take the opportunity to taste (small sips) as it opens up to see how the wine develops then twerk as you experience art in its finest physical form.
