2013 Chateau de Saint Cosme "Le Claux" Gigondas Review
Have you ever looked up at the stars only to wonder what our purpose is among the stars? Well I can tell you my purpose and its to drink this fucking wine.
This is from one of my favorite producers in France - Chateau de Saint Cosme. They put out some of the best Gigondas around them there parts and this is one of their higher end bottles. They didn't want to go full Grenache so they sprinkled 1% Syrah in there to be fancy.
In da nose I got plum, deep earth/soil (filled with worms and mushrooms) and some amazing herbs hand delivered by flavortown mayor, Guy Fieri. In da mouf I got tannic minerals from the depths of the Amazon, raspberry and a delightful finish of black pepper.
This was a superb wine and I am regretful I did not sacrifice a child or lamb in its honor. This wine would be wonderful alongside some steak or lamb or on its own laughing with your fellow upper-middle class friends. If you want something special look no further.
