Review:

This has been in the ol’ bunker fridge for a hot minute so after deciding to have a tomahawk ribeye and sear it in some bacon grease I said, "LET'S OPEN SOMETHING IRRESPONSIBLE!" So here we are.

Fattoria San Giuliano is nestled up in Piemonte with only 7 hectares, or 2 million cubic jet skis, of production spread around various areas of Nebbiolo producing farmland. This is a relatively small winery run by lovely people who use approximately 40% less hand gestures than the average male Italian.

In da nose I got some real serious chalk followed by dashes of pepper and clove. The chalk was the primary note and hogged all the chairs. In da mouf I got white cherry, tart pomegranate and a weird finish of cedar.

This was a disappointing outcome from a winery I really enjoy in one of the best damn years the region has seen. Most 2010 Barbaresco and Barolo make your panties fly off at the speed of light but this one was a bit disappointing. I mean it's better than some trash-ass, off-the-shelf 'Murican wine but yeah - not my favorite.
