Treaty Oak Ghost Hill Bourbon "Ryan's Taters - She Thirsty" Review
This is yet another Ryan's Taters pick to come in for Ryan's Liquor up in Spring, TX. You can read all about our adventure to pick this exact bottle here when we visited Treaty Oak over in Dripping Springs.
This is a true Texas grain to glass bourbon that is 100% the product of Treaty Oak. While the bourbon is a bit young the quality control and hands-on approach Treaty Oak lives by is something to be excited about. Probably more excited than watching a 45 person Democratic debate.
In da nose I got wildflower and cinnamon that hid the youth of this bourbon quite well. Then we got into the taste. This was originally supposed to be proofed to 115 proof rather than 95 and Non Chill Filtered. However it arrived at 95 proof and filtered. In da mouf I got grass, toast and corn.
While I'm always proud to have my stamp on something this wasn't exactly what we left the distillery thinking we were getting. Silly alcohol laws and poor communication probably led us to this but I would have loved for you all to had this as we did.
