Review:

Sample Queen Caleb Gibson of Gibby’s Bottle Shop in South Carolina gave this sample to me to pay off some hit man debt. Also I do hit man stuff. Call me.

This is the last release of the Rhetoric series from Orphan Barrel which confiscated a bunch of "forgotten" barrels that were chillin' up in the ol' Stitzel-Weller warehouses. This comes in at a Kindergarten-esque 91 proof and all the fancy label you can handle.

In da nose I got a whole lotta corn, oak and butterscotch. The nose was actually very pleasant past the corn and came off very sweet. In da mouf I was orally assaulted by oak planks followed by heavy spice and some nutmeg. This was a whole thing.

Some people can age bourbon a while and it turns out ok. The folks over at Michter's do a pretty good job as well as Buffalo Trace. These folks shoulda got into this barrel sooner - it fell flat and was over oaked and over spiced. If you're into pretty bottles things past their prime then this is for you.
