L'Encantada "Domaine Lous Pibous" 1993 Armagnac Review
Yet another sample from feminist Chris O’Mara and he knows the way to my heart by throwing this in front of me. This all started because of my love for Cognac and Armagnac. Now I'm wildly in debt trying to sell pieces of my house to pay for MY PRECIOUSES.
L'Encantada is a bomb ass sourcer of small, mom-and-pop Armagnac producers that ages them to perfection on their property. I've had a few of their bottles and I'm never upset by what I try. This is from a very small producer, "Lous Pibous" who is no longer churning out distilled grapes. Sad. This bad boy was distilled in 1993 and bottled in the year of our lord, 2017. 24 years of perfection.
In da nose I got leather, dried dates and gingerbread. In da mouf I got raisin bread and tobacco up front followed by chocolate covered cherries on the finish. The finish ended slightly bitter but lasted for seven weeks.
This is another oustanding product by L'Encantada and I hope they keep on coming. Each sip is an array of different notes which is why I love Armagnac so much - it isn't limited to 5 notes like SOME OTHER BROWN, AMERICAN WATER THAT I KNOW.
