Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch A119 Bourbon Review
I must confess I’ve not always been a huge Elijah Craig fan but a local liquor store said, "Hey, bro wanna try some of this here brown water?!" It was very unlike me to say this but I went with, "Yep." I put the bottle in the passenger seat of my truck and we stared at each other the entire ride home with complete distrust of each other.
This particular bottle is the barrel proof (ECBP) version bottled at a sweet 135.2 proof which can be one of many things: dangerous, sexy, delicious, volatile, disgusting, Calvin Klein. As you read above this is batch #A119 - the A means it is the first release of the year, the first digit is the month (January), the 2nd and 3rd digits indicate the year (2019). See every now and then I surprise y'all with some knowledge similar to the fact that barnacles have the largest penises in comparison to body size.
I opened the bottle and squinted because I wasn't expecting to be happy about the next 5-10 minutes of my life. I poured it in the glass and took a good ol' Bad Wine Reviews whiff and...wow. I was surprised. In da nose I got butterscotch and I shit you not a gotdang Twix bar. The nose on this thing is fantastic. In da mouf I got pepper on the front followed by some oak and cinnamon. It's obviously a bit hot at 135 proof but it certainly drinks easier. I really enjoyed the ever loving Twix shit out of this. If you're a pussy add a couple drops of water to start and I think you'll really enjoy it.
Honestly at this retail price you're a Bama fan if you pass up on this. This batch has made me a believer and if you're too frugal mcdumbbbb to buy it then please go try it at a bar. You will not regret it like you do your sex life.
