2014 Clone 5 Cab Sauv Review
So continuing on with Kelly's picks (great wines under $20) comes this 2014 Clone 5 Cab-Sauv. I've never tried wine from this vintner so truly a blind go all around.
On the nose it has an overwhelmingly strong cherry scent. Ya know in the early 2000s when girls would have that cherry scent stuff from Wal-Mart in their cars? That's what it reminded me of.
The taste however was not what I expected and had a much calmer dark cherry flavor. Subtle but nice. I would pair this wine with some spaghetti squash with a light sauce or whatever nonsense fruit type salads y'all be eating.
No need to decant this bad boy. Pop the cork, take ya pants off, yell at the kids it's time to eat and pour yourself a glass. You'll enjoy it and at $15 it won't make you lift the pinkie in front of guests.
