2018 Nice Wines Texas Blanc Review
Well I'm on pace to review every single wine made by Nice Wines by next week so here is another one. By now you know Nice Wines and I are like peanut butter and jelly, Demi Lovato and a spoon or a guy named Keith and a 2007 Dodge Neon. They is good and they is good wine.
This wine is made of 100% Blanc du Bois right here in Texas. As mentioned previously Nice, like many Texas vintners, purchase grapes from other regions and make locally OR make on-site where their grapes are purchased. One of the things I love about Nice, aside from getting white girl wasted on their drank, is that every single vintage for every wine has a data sheet and you can see everything about it. Transparency is key in the alcohol industry and there are a lot of sketchy people roofying you with false information. Anyway, the Blanc du Bois grape is a hybrid grape that is immune to certain diseases like Grape Herpes and Grapetheria. It's a cool grape, man.
Now that you know everything about this grape let's talk smells and tastes. In da nose I got lemon and grapefruit. In da mouf I got jack fruit and flowery things like rose. If you've never had a jack fruit you need to set aside the forty-seven minutes required to get into one and try it. They're awesome.
So it's a great wine but I'm not wild about the $28 price tag. Again with Nice you're paying for high quality products but that's a big number to pay for a white wine you're most likely going to drink while screaming at children or the raccoons in your garbage. If you're feeling frisky give it a try.
