The Macallan 18 Single Malt Scotch Review
The Macallan. If that's how you say you're having Macallan scotch then you are a taint. Macallan makes one hell of a product - you really can't go wrong with their scotch even if they are about 15% overpriced. I've had this bottle for a couple years now so figured I would pour it in a glass and judge it like I do old high school classmates.
Let's talk value first. I personally do not feel that the 18 is worth $200 more than the 12 year or in tongue terms it's definitely not 4 times better. So if you want to cut your tooth on some Macallan start off with the 12 which is STILL OVERPRICED but a much better value. Also stop getting triggered you simpletons - I said it wasn't worth the $250 not that it was a bad drink.
Fun story though about the 18. They included that in my rehearsal dinner for my wedding in the open bar and lordy did we take advantage of it. We killed a couple bottles and like three people.
In da nostrils, it's full of cherries, cigar smoke and upper middle class suburban guys who bought it for golf outings. In da mouf, it's a slightly thinner-than-expected spirit but has explosive notes of toffee and the bitter aspect of cocoa powder. As stated above, it's incredibly easy to drink a ton of and is a fine addition to any bar. I just don't think it's truly worth $250.
If you want to spend that kind of money for a better return I recommend some cocaine and a trip to Tijuana.
