2016 The Prisoner Blindfold Review

Review:

To me white wines tend to take on two distinct flavor profiles - fruity or nutty. I'm not usually a fan of the overly nutty white wines because they tend to have a thicker consistency and leave you wondering if you just left an IHOP after a questionable evening. This wine though - was a C-C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!

The nose on this wine has a pleasant citrus scent and you all know I can't break down what type of citrus specifically but I do know it's there - similar to how I don't know any particular Madea movies but I know they exist. Anyway, typically a wine with this smell is boring - it goes to Home Goods, thinks about buying that eclectic couch and rug combo but fails to do so because it fears the unknown. NOT THIS WINE.

This wine boldly decided that it would take on a nutty profile but would be a light, enjoyable drinking experience. To me it had a walnut / pecan flavor but it wasn't so bad that it overpowered the citrus scent. Overall I thought this was a great wine for the money.

If you want to start buying nicer white wines then this is a step in the right direction. From here I think you can make the jump to a $40-50 Chardonnay that needs to be given compliments three times per day.
