Review:

This wine was the #6 wine on Wine Spectator's Top 100 (WS is my trusted wine source) and came in at a 94 which is getting close to be considered a classic wine. I purchased it back in late 2016 and have been waiting to open it. Today is my 2nd daughter's, Louise's, first birthday so today seemed like a great day!

This wine contains one of my favorite grapes - Grenache - and figured it would be delicious. I aerated then decanted for about an hour. This wine doesn't necessarily NEED to decant but with the Grenache I think it will take on some bolder tastes by doing so.

Y'all know I can't smell shit so moving on

The taste is incredible. Few tannins and a nice tart, earthy flavor that takes over the palate and finishes with subtle fruits like plum and blackberries - maybe the blackberry taste contributes to the tart? I dunno - that's for trained professionals.

I paired this with steak because Louise is a BEAST and loves medium rare steak but I think it would pair better with spicy style foods and stews (cajun, thai, viet). That subtle flavor with bold, spicy foods GOTDANG SUNNN.

I cannot find anything negative about this wine. Imma drink a lot of it and probably buy shit on Amazon or start a drunk couple fight about why we need to occasionally review the tupperware situation in the cabinet.

Perfect wine. Go buy it and drink it for a nice occasion.
