2016 Cambridge & Sunset Pinot Noir Review
I have no idea where this bottle came from but I do a lot of dumb stuff so I may have bought it or held someone up at gun point. Either way I wasn't too excited about it because it's a California peanut nore. I wrote about another wine recently here that claimed to be a "craft" winery - one that is more of a boutique. That one was full of shit. This seems to be a boutique winery for realsies.
I don't care about their backstory but the name comes from the intersection where the vintners' house was somewhere in lame ass California. Enough about them and more about the wine. As I've stated 78 million times I'm not a huge fan of Californai pinot noirs. I find them shallow and pedantic. This one though...at $14...isn't the worst.
In da nostrils this wine is very flowery - maybe like a lavender or something but I only know like 3 flowers (AND YES I KNOW LAVENDER IS AN HERB BUT SHUT UPPPP). In da mouf I got lots of cranberry and tart cherry. The wine, while fruity, had a sour aspect to it but not like shitty vineger-esque wine. The finish turned more earthy which was very pleasant.
I didn't hate this wine and that's a good start for a California pinot. It's a simple wine that makes for easy drinking right out of the bottle. I would say give it a try.
