2017 Cave de Tain Crozes-Hermitage Syrah Review
I am extremely confused at this moment in my life. I have no idea where this wine came from as it was not in my log nor do I remember purchasing it. So here's a stab at a wine I know nothing about.
I normally do not research because I don't want to get tipped off on any notes. However, I truly know nothing about this producer. As I was searching I became enraged because their website is a bunch of bullshit about their craft and how their soil is more soily than all other soils. I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT JUST TELL ME WHAT GRAPES YOU GOT! This is Syrah. Whew.
When we cracked this wine it smelled like legit cheese. Funky ass cheese. It simmered down so in the nose I got cheese and coffee. It ain't easy bein' cheesy! In da mouf I got minerals, black olives and salt. This was a very unique wine as it seemed to taste like everything but wine. I'm not sure if this "wine" needs some more time in the bottle but I'm just confused.
Should you buy this? I dunno. My wife liked it a lot but to me this wine is having an identity crisis and it can't tell whether to cut its dick off or not. So take a chance if you're feeling frisky?
