2017 Old Forester "Birthday Bourbon" Review
I’ve never had the opportunity to purchase this bottle but finally was able to finagle my way into chugging it at someone's house. Lying and deceit has its perks sometimes.
The Birthday Bourbon is an annual release on September 2nd to celebrate the birthday of the company's founder, George Garvin Brown. There were actually two proofs of this - 96 and 95.4. This is the 96 because I WILL ONLY HAVE THE BEST!
In da nose I got Crème Brûlée and cinnamon that kept getting sweeter with every sniff. In da mouf I got bananas foster for DAYSSSS followed by a finish of 11 secret herbs and spices. I have to say this was worth the wait and something I would love to revisit every year but I doubt I can because who's got time to hunt this shit down?
If you can find it at retail or a little capitalist markup I would snatch it up. My dad even sent me a picture of him drinking some the other night whilst off on a business trip - he's about to get bit by the bourbon bug I have a feeling. Anyway great bottle and even better gift to give your favorite Darryl.
