2018 Michter's Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon Review
I’ve snacked on this bottle so many times at bars but never had the brainz to sit down and write about it. I've got a couple stored away in the bunker because I'm a weird guy, man.
This is one of Michter's limited releases where the whiskey is finished in toasted (not charred) barrels that have been air-dried for 18 months. Whoooo-hooo-oooooooo! Anyway this is another one of those Non Age Stated (NAS) allocated bottles that people freak over blah blah blah. It was released in 2015 and then not released again until last year (2018) because Michter's knows tha game.
In da nose I got cinnamon, marshmallows and anise. In da mouf I got candied licorice and Christmas spices followed by a finish that reminded me so much of German brandy. This is a late fall / winter drink all day, y'all!
I think this is worth every penny at retail and even a bit more as you climb the secondary ladder of deceit. My recommendation is to have this when you're with your family and you want to get super drunk and not care about the drama you start.
