Review:

Rye is definitely on the up-and-up and it’s best to just go ahead and get on the mountain climber's back, man...as they say in the biz. High West took it up a climbing notch with a squirrel on steroids which is an analogy to a double rye.

My buddy Chris had this at a bottle share and he forced it on me like a Kobe Bryant special hug. Their Double Rye is a blend of 2-7 year ryes from both their MGP stash and their own distillate. I haven't seen a pick of this particular offering so I reached out to Martin Wine Cellar (New Orleans, LA) on why they chose this. Just kidding - I ain't got them kinda cares or time.

In da nose I got mint and choclate chip. Not exclusive but not separate. Like a weird mint chocolate chip cookie that had the mint boiled off but then added back in. YA GET IT?! In da mouf I got a very nice collection of exotic herbs that finished into an oak candy bar.

I have to admit I didn't hate it and for the price of $45 it's not a bad deal. This would make a killer Sazerac and isn't horrendous for sipping. Drive on down to New Orleans and sip on some of this juice.
