Four Roses Blind Pig "Pigfather Part II" Store Pick Review
Bad Wine Reviews loyalist, Jeremy Smith, was gracious enough to sling me a couple samples - this is the second sample and a continuation of the Pigfather series. Oin oink mofos.
Blind Pig Liquor is known for their picks so I'm more giddy than Bruce Jenner realizing he could transition to a female to get out of a manslaughter charge for murdering that woman in that car crash on the highway in California. This is an OBSF recipe from warehouse UN coming in at 122.4 proof and aged for 8 years 2 months. The OBSF recipe is classified as "mint, fruity, spicy, full body." Read on to see what I copied.
In da nose I got blueberry, cinnamon and coffee creamer when you til the glass and snort the top. Lovely nose that was incredibly sweet and rich. In da mouf I got a decent amount of oak, butter and some candy bar nougat. The spice really came in on the finish for me along with that 122 proof - this seemed to clash a bit with the heavy mouthfeel.
Sequels are rarely better than the original and this is no exception. While still a very lovely pick it is bested by the original. I'm pumped I got to try both of them so close together - looking forward to more of these piggy picks.
