2019 Elijah Craig "Blind Pig Liquor" Store Pick Bourbon Review
Bad Wine Reviews loyalist, Travis Thompson let me sip on this while I was at his house for a phenomenal meal and Gladiator style board games. Then there was oil twister which was a bit odd but we're down for anything.
This is Blind Pig Liquor's 2019 attempt at an Elijah Craig barrel pick and as you know they tend to do the pickies quite well. I was moved, both spiritually and emotionally, by an EC pick by Liquor Hut recently which is very uncommon for me. It made me realize this shit can be fantastic so I was expecting big things.
In da nose I got a grocery store amount of spice and raw honey on a black couch. In da mouf I got cinnamon, some orange peel and vanilla. The nose far outperformed the taste but it was a very nice, better-than-average pick.
I'm starting to develop the opinion that at $30 it's hard to be too picky (HEH!) regarding these bottles. You're getting something totally unique and often something quite drinkable. This is why wine is awesome - you can say that about something $20 less. Buncha liquor bitches.
