Elijah Craig 18 Year Bourbon Review
What’s better than an underage Elijah Craig? How bout an 18 year Elijah Craig? Alriiiiiight alriiiiight.
The 18 Year Elijah Craig is a limited release outta my homeboys garage - Heaven Hill. This overrated booze was limited to 15,000 bottles or as I like to say, "3.5 bottles randomly put on the shelf somewhere in America." It's a 90 proof bourbon which means maybe 10,000 bottles woulda been better...
In da nose I got oak and a mixture of cocoa and milk chocolate. Each sniff would be something different which was quite intriguing. In da mouf I got a palate full of vanilla and pepper followed by a honeycomb finish that felt slightly synthetic. I think it's good but it's not the boner jams 99 that people think it is.
Overall I think this is something nice to try at a bar but I'm personally not going to drop retail or some absurd secondary price for it. Or you can do what I do and coax your friends into letting you try some in exchange for weird favors.
